Alan Mendelsohn

Dr. Alan Mendelsohn completed his internship in internal medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center after receiving his BS and MD from Northwestern University, where he also fulfilled his residency in ophthalmology. Alan Mendelsohn, MD, subsequently relocated to Miami, where he focused his attention on the cornea and external diseases of the eye as a Fellow at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

In 1987, Dr. Mendelsohn began treating patients at Eye Surgery Associates, where he remained until 2006, at which point he joined Eye Surgeon & Consultants. At the latter, he focuses on no-stitch cataract surgery, glaucoma, and external eye diseases.

Over the course of his career, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Florida Medical Association have each recognized Dr. Mendelsohn’s commitment to the community with leadership awards. He has also served as the president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and held leadership positions in state and county medical associations.
